young ppl in school

any young would be film makers who are still in school? what are you going to do after school?

Yeah I'm in school. After my A Levels I'm going to Uni to do English. It's a broad subject that'll give me a head start in alot of areas, film, theatre, tv, journalism, writing....after my degree I'll think about maybe a post grad film course or maybe I'll go straight to hollywood.....

Hell i'm only in my 3rd year at school so i wouldn't really know, but i want to get the best courses or A levels to take to get into film,so maybe you could tell me what you are doing or what a good choice would be to think about for my future

the A-levels i did were:

Media Studies (A-level) - to get an understanding for the industry and they gave use a basic understanding of cameras, e.g. how to use properly, angles, and techincal crap and editing. All the basics to make a short. It was a good laugh!

Theatre Studies (A-level) - How to work with actors, act myself, how to write scripts 2 be acted out and you learn about practisioners like stan and Brecht which come in handy around your actors. It was a good laugh.

Geography - Needed a third subject, Shite! like it at GCSE wouldn't recomend it at A-Level!


Then after all that went on to a film degree, (Good idea to scout around for a film course, don't choose one that is all theory and makes u just learn history and generas, get a good course that is 50% theory and 50% practical!) good laugh, am going to start 2nd year in september and and going to make my first 16mm short there.


After that, who knows but hope to make a proper film!

I'm in 8th grade, I have less than $50 to do a movie and I have a VHS and 2 8mm cameras at my disposal. I have a computer editing system and I have friends who share my idea of the funniest movie my school has ever seen. I need advise.

I'm in my final year of High School now before going on to Uni. More than likely, I'll be doing Media Studies, which focuses a lot on the more practical side of things (other courses elsewhere do not), which I believe, is one of THE most important ways to become really good at this whole filmmaking shindig - experience. Experiment, fuck up, do good!

And then, after that? Take on the world!

Im in 10th grade. Just bought a 16mm cam in good condition. Will be filming a documentary with my brother hopefully next year. Ill also hopefully win the W. Dean grant to help finance it.

In college ill probly be taking medicine, computer science or something related to computer/3d animation.

Then, since ill have something to fall back on, (getting into the movie business aint easy ya know) ill focus more on my movies.
